Flintshire tenants say no to housing transfer

Mar 21 2012 by Eleanor Barlow, Flintshire Chronicle

FLINTSHIRE council tenants have voted to keep the authority as their landlord.

Tenants in Flintshire’s 7,400 council houses were balloted over whether to transfer their homes to a registered social landlord but an overwhelming 88% of residents voted no to the move.

The county had the highest turn out in a housing ballot in Wales, with 71% of tenants having their say.

Councillors will be recommended to accept the outcome of the ballot at a meeting on Tuesday.
