A letter in the Swindon Advertiser

Councillor Russell Holland says “my priority is to ensure that tenants have the information they need to make an informed choice” (Adver, Sept 5th).

To make such a choice, tenants need access to both sides of the argument. This means information on the ‘downsides’ of transfer, as well as Council arguments in favour. They will not be getting such information from the Council’s propaganda sheet ‘Housing Matters’, from its DVDs, or its drop-in sessions.

Swindon Tenants Campaign Group has none of the ample resources that the Council can deploy to put its case. However, groups of tenant volunteers are leafleting council housing to warn tenants of the ‘cons’ of transfer. If you are a tenant and you want to know more about the facts that they are not elling you, contact us on stcg@btinternet.com or ring 07786 394593.
