Swindon Borough Council has been given permission by the coalition government to ballot its tenants on a transfer of its 10,500 housing units to a new Housing Association. The ballot is likely to take place in November. If a majority of tenants vote in favour of transfer it will go ahead, with the new Housing Association going live in April of next year.

If a majority of tenants vote against the transfer then we will remain Council tenants.
